Davidson Architecture worked closely with Downer and Tilt Renewables to prepare Concept Studies for this much needed solution to South Australia’s peak energy requirements.
Powered by a nearby windfarm, which would deliver off peak power to pump the water to the upper dam, the scheme would deliver instant power to the grid by releasing the water, through the power turbines to the lower dam during peak demand.
Strategically situated in a former quarry, the local area stands to gain significant amenity through the power station visitor and picnic areas which would open up previously inaccessible parts of the Adelaide Hills.
