Davidson Architecture were engaged by Hume City Council to modernise a small tennis club pavilion with strong roots in the local community. Dilapidated toilet facilities were fully upgraded to a high standard including an accessible facility, and a new kitchen/bar area was installed which provided a modern hub for club activities, incorporating stainless steel commercial grade benches, appliances and exhaust canopy. The upgrade also allowed for new feature lighting and a bespoke joinery concept along with new comms and screens for event viewing.
The existing cream brick exterior was in great condition, aligned closely to the heritage of the local area as seen in the recently renovated Broadmeadows Town Hall. The existing roof was replaced with new roofing and insulation, which along with new LED lighting and a new skylight, contributes significantly to reduction in the carbon footprint of the existing building.
